For his exceptional organization of the centenary celebrations in Narasaraopet, Guntur, Sri Swamiji was honored with the “Suvarna Simha Talata” (Golden Lion) by the temple committee, presented by Sri Girish Sanghi, head of the erstwhile ‘Vartha’ newspaper.
In 2010, Sri Swamiji, blessed by Sri Bala Tripura Sundari Ammavaru, compiled the upasana vidhi of Sri Ammavaru. During this event, he was adorned with a Swarna “Ganda Pendera” by Andhra Pradesh's Chief Minister Sri Konijeti Rosaiah and MP Dr. T. Subbi Rami Reddy.
Sri Aadi Para Shakti's avatar, Sri Manasa Devi, who can absolve severe sins and curses, performed penance here. Hence, the site is known as Sri Manasa Tapokshetram.
During the creation process, Sri Brahma created nine Brahmas, with Pulastya Brahma designated to reside in Mukkamala Kshetra. This made the site known as Pulastyasharamam, the holy ashram of Pulastya Brahma.
To atone for splitting the Shiva Atma Linga and incurring a great sin, Sri Subrahmanya Swamy performed intense penance and a grand homa at Mukkamala Kshetra. This earned the site the names Sri Sankatahara Ganapathi Kshetram and Sri Tapo Kumara Kshetram.
Sri Chaturmukha Brahma and his consort, Sri Saraswati, performed a significant yagna at Mukkamala Kshetra for the successful creation of the universe. The site is thus called Brahmakundam, where Brahma performed this yagna.
Mukkamala Mahakshetra is revered as one of the holiest places globally, acknowledged by the creator deity, Chaturmukha Brahma.
Mukkamala Kshetra has long been a sacred site for countless rishis, earning it the name Munikoti Kshetra, the holy place of crores of sages.
A king’s wife gave birth to a snake due to a past sin. The devoted wife, Trilokya Sundari, sought to restore her husband to human form. Despite visiting many holy sites, she found success only at Mukkamala Mahakshetra. Bathing in the Vasishta Ganga river there, her husband was transformed into a handsome human, and they returned to Kashmir happily. The site thus gained the name Dharmakunda, signifying a place that restores Dharma.
Sri Lalitha Tripura Sundari, the omnipresent Parabrahma, created life and established Brahma, Vishnu, and Maheshwara at this kshetra. She revealed that Mukkamala Mahakshetra would be the origin of the three forms of Maha Kali, Maha Lakshmi, and Maha Saraswati, hence naming it Tripadma Kshetra.
During creation, Aryavaishyas, residing in Kailasam under divine guidance, migrated into the belly of Kama Dhenuvu, the sacred cow, and emerged from her ears at Mukkamala Mahakshetra. This led to the kshetra being known as ‘Gau-garbha kshetra’ and ‘Gau-karna kshetra.
The consort of Sri Parama Shiva, Sri Parvati Ammavaru, manifested as ‘Vindhya Vaasini’ to assist Aryavaishyas, giving the kshetra its name ‘Vindhya Vaasini kshetra.’ Similarly, Sri Lakshmi Devi, consort of Sri Maha Vishnu, appeared as ‘Kona Kamala’ to bless Aryavaishyas, leading to the kshetra being called ‘Sri Kshetra.’
Sri Aadi Para Shakti granted Samaadhi Vaishya the boon to bestow moksha upon 102 couples of the same gotra. Manifesting as Vasavi Ammavaru from a homa at Penugonda, Vasavi Amma performed ‘agni pravesham’ (self-immolation) at Mukkamala, thus naming the kshetra ‘Moksha Gunda.’
From Penugonda, Sri Vasavi Amma established various deities, including Sapta Matrikas, Ashta Bhairavas, Nava Durgas, Dasa Maha Vidyas, and Chathurshasthi Yoginis, at Mukkamala. This led to the kshetra being known by multiple names such as ‘Sapta Matrika Peetham,’ ‘Ashta Bhairava Kshetram,’ ‘Nava Durga Shakthi Peetham,’ ‘Dasa Maha Vidya Shakthi Peetham,’ and ‘Maha Yogini Peetham.’
King Vishnu Vardhana Raju’s attempt to obstruct the agni pravesham of Sri Vasavi Amma was thwarted by Mata Pratyangira, a formidable form of Ammavaru, who defeated him. As a result, Mukkamala is revered as ‘Sri Pratyangira Maha Shakthi Peetham.’
Sri Chaturmukha Brahma created 18 major cities, including Penugonda, for the benefit of Aryavaishyas, with Mukkamala Mahakshetra as the central point. Consequently, this kshetra is also referred to as ‘Jyestha Sailam.
This sacred kshetra is renowned for its power to absolve sins and facilitate moksha, making it a vital pilgrimage site to visit at least once in a lifetime.
